Insurance companies are for-profit billion dollar businesses. There are only three ways for an insurance company to make money. Take in more in premiums (raise your rates), invest those premiums and hold onto them as long as possible to gain interest (delay claim payments), and pay less on claims (not pay for all of your damages). They spend millions of dollars a year in advertising using memorable jingles with celebrities and lovable characters promising to make everything whole again after you have a loss to build your trust and to make themselves a household name. It's not until you have a loss that you find out what they're really about, and it isn't making it easy to get what you are owed. You may feel powerless as they are such large companies, and you want to believe they are acting in good faith as they're the insurance company you chose, but when you realize that they are not who you thought they were you don't have to go along with their games.
Your insurer has no regard to how the repairs to your vehicle will be performed. All they care about is cheaper, cheaper, cheaper. Aftermarket parts, used suspension parts, network shops that might cut corners to please their insurance partners, they don't care if your paint matches, economic pressures placed on your shop forcing them to either compromise quality or turn to you to make up the financial deficit, they don't even care if your vehicle is repaired properly and safely for you and your family. All they care about is cheaper.
We at Forensic Collision Claims do care. And we intend to make sure that you have every penny you could possibly need to have your car repaired safely, properly, and for it to look like your wreck never even happened. You almost certainly have coverage for this, no matter how much your insurer insists that you don't.
